CARNEGIE, PA – Today, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) announced that he joined with the majority of his U.S. House Democratic Caucus colleagues in signing a letter to Acting Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that expresses alarm at the illegal decision by President Trump to reduce the reimbursement rate for indirect research costs to 15 percent across the board.

CENTER TOWNSHIP, PA — Today, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) announced $150,000 in federal funding to support the Beaver Valley Regional Police Department’s (BVRPD) ongoing regionalization efforts. BVRPD—formed by the merging of the police departments for the Boroughs of Baden, Conway, and Freedom and Rochester Township—will use the funding for costs associated with the startup of the new consolidated department, including personnel, new uniforms, and other supplies.

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Congressmembers Chris Deluzio (PA-17) and Glenn “GT” Thompson (PA-15) today introduced the Orphan Well Grant Flexibility Act designed to empower states to maximize their operational flexibility when plugging orphaned oil wells. These wells, either unplugged or improperly plugged, can pose serious environmental threats to surrounding communities such as water contamination, methane emission, and can introduce other harmful pollutants to the local ecosystem.
