CENTER TOWNSHIP, PA — Today, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) gave an update on the plans to fully replace and upgrade a critical 1.3 mile stretch of Route 68 in Rochester Borough and Rochester Township, Beaver County. The heavily trafficked road that connects a school, government buildings, business, and residential areas is in a state of disrepair and beyond rehabilitation. A full reconstruction is required, and Congressman Deluzio secured $500,000 in federal funding to help.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two years after a freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed in the town of East Palestine, Ohio, just across the state line with Pennsylvania, U.S. Representatives Chris Deluzio (PA-17) and Ro Khanna (CA-17) today reintroduced the Decreasing Emergency Railroad Accident Instances Locally (DERAIL) Act to broaden the definition by which trains are classified as a “high-hazard flammable train” (HHFT).

CARNEGIE, PA This week, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) sent a letter to Acting Social Security Administrator Michelle King calling for clarity on the Administration’s policy on in-person appointments. His office received multiple complaints from constituents seeking in-person appointments at Social Security field offices; they reported unmanned phones, confusing guidance on walk-in policies, and a requirement to book appointments online.

Ahead of the two-year anniversary of Norfolk Southern’s toxic train derailment just across from Pennsylvania’s 17th Congressional District, he announced his intent to introduce new rail safety legislation building off the 2023 Railway Safety Act.

Starting today, Congressman Deluzio’s constituent services staff will be available every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM to help constituents who are having issues with federal government services, including Social Security, Medicare, VA benefits, and many others. The company has a significant economic footprint in Western Pennsylvania and, through its contracts with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), supports the nation’s goals and interests in space.
