CARNEGIE, PA On Saturday July 19, Congressman Chris Deluzio (D-PA-17) joined a rail safety roundtable with Congressman Mike Rulli (R-OH-06), union rail workers, and stakeholders from Beaver County, PA and Eastern Ohio. The discussion focused on pending rail safety legislation, worker safety issues like inspections, and the Trump Administration’s approach to rail safety. Held in Columbiana, OH around 10 miles from the derailment site in East Palestine, the even brought together not only the two U.S.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chris Deluzio (PA-17) along with Jan Schakowsky (IL-11) and U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) reintroduced the Price Gouging Prevention Act to fight back against the corporate power enabled by the Trump administration’s chaotic tariff policies. The bill would give the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state attorneys general new tools to enforce a federal ban against grossly excessive price increases.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last night, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) with colleagues on the powerful House Armed Services Committee, marked up the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)—the large, annual defense bill that creates the policies related to our armed services and other national security-related efforts. Congressman Deluzio voted for the measure, which passed out of committee by a vote of 55-2.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) introduced a new bill to check presidential authority under the centuries-old Insurrection Act. The new Insurrection Act of 2025 would reform legislation from 1807 that provides the President broad and vague authority to deploy troops—with or without the request of a state—to suppress “any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy.” Presidents have rarely used the current law, recognizing the long American tradition of keeping the military out of domestic law enforcement.
