Office of Congressman Deluzio Closes Over 1,000 Constituent Cases

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Office of Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) marked the milestone of closing more than 1,000 constituent cases and saving $3,494,283.25 for the people of Pennsylvania's 17th Congressional District. Congressman Deluzio’s staff includes several Constituent Service Representatives who provide casework services to constituents who need help with any federal agency. Those agencies include the Social Security Administration, the State Department, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and many others.
"My team and I have no higher priority than serving the good people of Pennsylvania’s 17th Congressional District,” said Rep. Deluzio. “Constituent casework services are one of the most important ways that my office works to help, and I am proud that we have saved Western Pennsylvanians millions of dollars and have reached this milestone in under one year in office.”
Earlier this fall, Congressman Deluzio shared a video about a constituent casework success story in which the Congressman and his office helped a local food assistance non-profit, Food Assistance Match (FAM), get the correct tax designation it required from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). FAM works in Western Pennsylvania, including in Pennsylvania’s 17th Congressional District, to connect communities with local farmers, support small businesses, and bridge the financial gap to make farmers’ markets and fresh food available to more people.
Dozens of other constituents shared testimonials on working with Congressman Deluzio’s office on casework issues. A selection is below:

Deluzio’s office] started the inquiry process on Wednesday 6/7 and the refund check was received two days later.”

“I sent a request about help with an I-130 petition that I filled for my wife. After the approval period exceeded the estimated amount of time by several months, I contacted Congressman Deluzio’s office via email. [A staff member in Rep. Deluzio’s office] responded very quickly and offered his services to contact USCIS on our behalf. He was extremely professional and prompt with his replies. While he was investigating our case, it went through, which was the desired outcome... It is great to know there are people like him working for Congressman Deluzio and paying attention to constituents’ needs and concerns.”
