NEW DATA: Deluzio’s Oversight at ICE Detention Center Reveals More Than 75% of People Detained in Moshannon Facility are “Low Security”

June 1, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Deluzio (PA-17) is releasing new data that he learned during his oversight visit inside Pennsylvania’s largest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center last Thursday.

On Thursday May 28th, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) and Congresswoman Summer Lee (PA-12) conducted a joint congressional oversight visit at the Moshannon Valley Processing Center in Philipsburg, PA. This was the first successful unannounced congressional oversight visit inside the Clearfield County facility by Members of Congress during this Trump Administration. Moshannon Valley Processing Center Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) largest facility in the region.

NEW DATA: Congressman Deluzio is releasing new data he learned during Thursday’s visit.

  • As of Thursday May 28, 2026, there were 1,417 adults inside the Moshannon Valley Processing Center. There are no minors inside this facility.
  • Approximately 1,100 are classified as “low security,” which means that they have not been accused of serious, violent crimes or engaged in similar conduct while in detention.
  • This means that more than 78% of the people in Moshannon last week lack serious criminal charges or convictions or allegations of violent behavior in detention.

This new data is in sharp contrast with the Trump Administration’s ongoing claims that ICE is targeting their immigration enforcement on the “worst of the worst” like murderers, gang members, and rapists.

Following the visit, Congressman Deluzio and Congresswoman Lee took questions from reporters to share what they learned and saw during their visit. More details on the visit are here. Photos and video are available here
