Deluzio Breaks Ground on New Factory After Helping Deliver Key Federal Tax Credit for Project

March 19, 2025

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc.’s New Big Beaver Facility Will Create 200+ Jobs Manufacturing Critical Energy Infrastructure

BIG BEAVER, PA — Today, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) joined state and local government officials and regional business leaders to break ground on a new Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) factory that will create over 200 new, permanent manufacturing jobs. The 160,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art production and assembly center in Big Beaver Borough will manufacture advanced switchgears and vacuum circuit breakers that are critical for clean energy infrastructure. The facility is expected to be completed in July 2026.

“This is a big win for Beaver County, Western Pennsylvania, and the entire country. I’m proud to have helped deliver federal support to make this happen,” said Congressman Deluzio. “Today, we celebrate new manufacturing jobs and economic growth in our region that will help onshore our supply chains and expand clean energy infrastructure. I’ll keep fighting down in Washington to help bring more solid jobs and growth to us in Western Pennsylvania. Let‘s supercharge American manufacturing, with Western Pennsylvania leading the way.”

Congressman Deluzio advocated for this project in 2024 by sending a letter to the U.S. Secretary of Energy supporting MEPPI’s application for a Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit. Also called a “48C” tax credit, this credit was expanded in the 2021 Inflation Reduction Act to support clean energy manufacturing production. MEPPI’s federal tax credit application was granted in full—which was a key element that helped bring this $86 million investment into reality. As part of their commitment to Western Pennsylvania, MEPPI also plans to expand their existing facility in Warrendale, PA with investments in power electronics and test labs.
