Deluzio Announces Department of Agriculture Grant for Energy Efficiency at Ellwood City's Hall Industries Inc.
CARNEGIE, PA — Today, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) announced $31,448 in federal funding for Hall Industries Incorporated, a machine parts company in Ellwood City, PA. Since 1966, Hall Industries Inc. has created and supplied machine components for cranes, transit vehicles, and mechanical assemblies.
This grant comes from the Renewable Energy Systems & Energy Efficiency Improvement Guaranteed Loans & Grant program out of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Rural Development’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). The money will go toward the purchase and installation of energy-efficient LED lighting. Once complete, the project is estimated to save Hall Industries approximately $15,300 per year and will decrease its annual energy consumption by 14 percent.
“Saving money for local businesses and protecting our planet for future generations can, and should, be a win-win,” said Congressman Chris Deluzio. “This funding is a great example of partnerships that protect both the economy and the environment. I am proud to bring back these federal funds to help Hall Industries Inc. save money on their energy bills while increasing their energy efficiency.”
The USDA’s REAP Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Loans and Grants program provides rural small businesses like Hall Industries Inc. guaranteed loan financing and grant funding when they implement renewable energy systems or make energy efficient improvements. Agricultural producers are also eligible for this program, and they are similarly able to apply for loans for new energy efficient equipment and systems.
This summer, the Biden-Harris Administration announced $266 Million in investments from the USDA to help rural business owners, farmers and ranchers across the country lower energy costs, generate income, and expand operations, as part of their “Investing in America” Agenda.
