Deluzio Announces $500,000 to Help Fix Major Rochester Corridor, Replace More than a Mile of Roadway
ROCHESTER, PA – This morning, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) announced a $500,000 federal investment to support the full upgrade of a major thoroughfare in Rochester, Pennsylvania. This Beaver County project is one of fifteen community projects that Congressman Deluzio successfully got funded through the annual congressional funding bills.
“There’s a lot that divides us in this day and age, but we’re connected in many important ways: we drive the same roads, cross the same bridges, and feel the same jolt from those lousy potholes on our commutes,” said Congressman Deluzio. “I’m proud to help fix the problems that affect us. Today, I’m excited to announce that I’ve secured $500,000 to help PennDOT do a full improvement of more than a mile of a critical roadway corridor in Rochester.”
“We are grateful for Congressman Deluzio’s commitment to Western Pennsylvania’s infrastructure and for securing this funding,” said PennDOT District Executive Jason Zang. “This stretch of Route 68 through Rochester Borough and township is a heavy residential and commercial corridor and this funding will help to provide the communities with a quality long-lasting pavement and much needed updates to drainage, guide rail, signals, and signs. We ask and thank the public for their patience when this project gets underway in the 2025 construction season.”
The project includes a large extent of a heavily trafficked corridor that connects a school, government buildings, businesses, and more. The current state of the roadway is beyond any further rehabilitation or preservation treatments, and the Pennsylvania’s Department of Transportation determined it requires a full replacement. The project is estimated to cost an estimated $7.5 million in total, and construction will begin late spring of 2025 and conclude summer of 2026.
Congressman Deluzio was joined by Borough officials and representatives from PennDOT. Photos from the event can be found here.
